DR. C. JEANNIE HOFFMAN, Director Emeritus
In 1961, while a student at Cincinnati Bible Seminary, Jeannie was asked to take over teaching the classes of her mother, Betty McElroy, at Manila Bible Seminary. That was the beginning of 58 years of ministry - teaching English, Missions, Early Childhood Development, General Psychology, Puppetry, and Visual Aids. Jeannie was also involved in establishing and continuing campus ministries, medical missions, VBS seminars, women’s outreaches, and disaster relief. Jeannie served as President of Manila Bible Seminary for 24 years, retiring in 2015. She continues her ministry in the Philippines in the role of Director of PMCC and assisting the Bonfal Church of Christ in the northern Philippines.
DR. B. JAMES MCELROY, Executive Director
Jim’s love for the Philippines began in 1951 when he arrived there as a toddler with his parents Barton and Betty McElroy, who served the Philippine Mission Churches of Christ (PMCC) for 20 years. Jim left the field when he enrolled at Ozark Christian College, graduating with a BA in Sacred Literature, and meeting his future wife, Karla Jordan. Jim completed his MA in Linguistics at the University of Missouri, and was ordained to ministry in 1972, later completing the Doctor of Divinity with Master's International School of Divinity in 2011. After several stateside ministries, Jim and Karla accepted the invitation to serve with Manila Bible Seminary (MBS) and arrived with their own McElroy toddlers, Charise and Jared, serving in the Philippines from 1982 to 1988. Jim also served with Pioneer Bible Translators and Filipino American Christian Church in the US, before returning to the Philippines at the board's request to fill the role of President at MBS. Though he completed that role in 2016, he remains as the PMCC Field Director, overseeing three church planting teams, three Christian academies and the hospital in Aparri. While much of his work for PMCC is Stateside, working with the Board and supporting churches, he travels to the Philippines 2 - 3 times a year to encourage the teams and determine their needs so that he knows how best to support them. Jim and Karla living in the Seattle area, spending lots of one-on-one time with their children and grandchildren.
DAVE BOUCHARD, Chairman of the Board
Dave spent 13 years in mission in Western Canada in local church ministry, para church youth work, and teaching at Alberta Bible College. He then spent 34 years in leadership at the Rising Sun Church of Christ in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Along the way, Dave has enjoyed the opportunity to make an effort for the Kingdom in various places around the world. Dave's desire to be involved with the Philippines began with a personal relationship with the McElroy family that goes back years. His passion has continued to grow for the work in the Philippines - what he says is among the most successful fields in the world! He is excited that the Filipino people are open to the gospel and the future for the church is bright across the country. He would most love to share the incredible stories of what Christ is doing there with you. As he says, "If I can help, why wouldn’t I?"
